About this role

Embark on an exciting journey as an Ops Platform Engineer at Polygon.io, where you will have significant ownership over the platform. We are seeking a high performing platform engineer that will specialize in operational tasks and projects to help us build tools and systems that are highly available and scalable. You will have significant ownership over the platform, specifically technologies like bare-metal Kubernetes, Puppet, Container Runtimes, Ceph, Juniper networking hardware, and Multicast UDP.

Responsibilities

  • Manage on premises self hosted Kubernetes environment and related private cloud infrastructure
  • Procure and manage the lifecycle of on premises hardware
  • Manage our private cloud networking infrastructure
  • Take point on observability, monitoring, and alerting objectives
  • Establish patterns and train the rest of the team on best practices
  • Build developer centric tooling and automation
  • Write reliable and maintainable code
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with a small team of passionate engineers

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience being an ops engineer
  • Experience operating Kubernetes
  • Preferred experience supporting on prem environments
  • Preferred experience with distributed file systems. Ex: Ceph
  • Preferred experience with Juniper networking infrastructure
  • Preferred experience with IaC tools such as Puppet and Terraform
